The main walking and cycling routes that are around our B&B are The Way Of The Roses Cycling Route Morecambe to Bridlington, The Dales Way Walk Ilkley to Bowness, The Lady Anne’s Way Walk Skipton to Penrith and The Three Dale Walk Burnsall, Kettelwell and Malham these all pass through Burnsall by Wharfe View so come put your feet up at the end of a long days walking or cycling around the Yorkshire Dales. The Way of the Roses
The Way of the Roses Cycle route is a 170 mile cycle route starting off in Morecambe and finishing in Bridlington.
Wharfe View bed and breakfast Burnsall is 52 miles from Morecambe and right on the Way of the Roses route and has secured storage for bikes.
We have been welcoming guests since the Way or the Roses route was launched and we give cyclists the option of a traditional Full English breakfast, Vegetarian or a power up breakfast of Porridge with choice of toppings to set you on stage two of the Way of the Roses. Large groups of 10 can be accommodated with generous discounts for group bookings of 8 or more booking who do the Way of the Roses. Luggage can be dropped off prior to your stay and we work with all the luggage transfer companies. We have ample off parking for support crews. The Dales Way
The Dales Way Walk is an 85 mile (128km) walk from Ilkley (Yorkshire) to Bowness-on-Windemere in the Lake District taking you through some of England’s finest countryside with amazing views on every mile on the path. Wharfe View Bed & Breakfast Burnsall is 13 miles approximately from the start of the Dales Way in Ilkley and has been welcoming walkers doing the Dales Way Walk for nearly 50 years . Richard can also help you plan your walk.
Wharfe View Bed & Breakfast has been a long established member of the Dales Way Association who make sure the signage and path are kept in good order. Wharfe View Bed & Breakfast work with all the major luggage transfer companies and guests are welcome to drop their luggage off before their stay. Large groups of 10 can be accommodated with generous discounts for group bookings of 7 or more booking.
Wharfe View Bed & Breakfast has drying facilities for the wet days on the Dales Way and offers packed lunches for the next day (by prior arrangement). We do not do evening meals but there are two very good hotel/pubs in the village that offer restaurant and bar food, booking well in advance is essential. For those arriving early enough into the village the Tea rooms offer excellent value. Free Parking is available at Wharfe View Bed & Breakfast for the whole of the walk if guests stay with us for the first three nights of walk, transfer to the start of the Dales Way in Ilkley can be arranged and the same for returning on day two from Buckden and starting day three in Buckden. Local Walks
Burnsall is a great base for Walking around the Dales easily linking with the Dales buses and lifts to and from Wharfe View can be arranged for the difficult to get to places, Many people make Burnsall there base for there weeks walking and set off in a different direction every day. There are walks of varying difficulties and length from a gentle stroll along the river to a good climb up and around Grimwith reservoir for a day. Richard is happy to help you plan your routes and help you get the most out of your stay.
There is also the The Three Dales Walk a circular walk through Wharfedale, Littondale and Malhamdale 32 miles (51km)
Day1 From Burnsall along the river Wharfe into Grassington and onto Kettlewell catch the bus back to Burnsall
Day 2 A bus up to Kettlewell and then a climb over to Arncliffe in Littondale and then through some of the Dales finest views to Malham in Malhamdale where we will pick you up.
Day 3 A lift over to Malham and a fantastic walk back to Burnsall through the little known hamlet of Bordley
